Inspired by the Latin cultures that establish reggaeton as a meeting point, we set out to explore color as the main tool of expression. From the analysis of the handling of colors and images of different urban artists, we decided to give a wink to this musical genre by creating COLORS: THE NEW BLACK; 100% sustainable luxury urban collection. In this collection, we made three videos as a happening inside the Artbo Colombian Art Fair in its 2019 version.
COLORS: THE NEW BLACK is established as a circuit of artistic activations proposed by the Pereira Art Museum within the 3 days of the fair.
This work, had the choreographic direction of @gicollazos and the performance of the dancers @mariamutante & @sebasloud, who performed live songs by Colombian artists in an informal way: @ greeicy1, @joanminatti and @brxdpxt. The audiovisual production was done collaboratively by @dacastroph Filmaker and Julián Al Florez, Ceo from Goodarma.
DARKKARMA is a collection created by the Colombian brands @ Gookatma.co & @Sendo_Official during 2019 as a result of the collaboration between Alejandro Salazar and Julián Al Florez; Dark Karma is a conversation between two friends, a failed promise, a set of situations that tie us to a social state, that generates anxiety, Dark Karma is all that is there, all that affects us and that we can’t control.
It is also the massive production of plastic by Coca Cola, it is Neo-liberalism, the eternal promise of not doing more “that” that we know we always end up doing. Dark karma is an aimless journey, an uber driver on a night of encounters with love. Dark Karma is everything and nothing, a broken hug, an insurance that everything will be better tomorrow.
The #Dark Karma collection proposes “flow” as logic, a tribute to the “path”, a #KillDeDrama, a set of unique pieces that were cooked as wellness therapy, a work, a canvas, a new awakening.
We chose Havana as the first stage for our debut film, and _NEO TAIGER _ SESSION 2 / INSIDE / HABANA is the name of our first campaign. We toured the Historic Center and understood important ideas about consumption and revolution, resulting in “Freedom” as the concept we decided to explore in our first PhotoShoot.
We did this collaborative production spontaneously, meeting Miguel Leyba by chance; a fashion influencer who personalized the Gookarma spirit, current GooDarma.
